New factory ahead of schedule

Construction of the new purpose built £6m factory for Stroud Metal Co and Stroud Plastics Co is rapidly taking shape and thanks to fine weather and great project management, construction is actually 2 weeks ahead of schedule!

Matthew Large, Managing Director of the Stroud Group of companies said “We have several very large new projects which will be starting mass production shortly after we have relocated. Our current premises is no longer appropriate, so the extra bespoke production space we have created will accommodate for the planned expansion of our business.
Last year saw our Stroud Metal business grow by 20% and Stroud Plastics by 30%. Before the construction started for Phase1 of the construction project, we believed it would be about 5 years years before we implemented Phase2. As it stands today, we shall require the extra expansion space of Phase2 much earlier than this to support continued growth”

In the photo you see below, the car park has been partially covered in tarmac and the main structure of the offices has been completed. The roof has now been completed and we are well into the phase of cladding the side walls.

By the end of January the building will be water and weathertight, floors will be laid and the internal first-fit will commence. Whilst all this is happens, Stroud Metal and Stroud Plastics will gradually build stock of components to allow us to relocate our equipment. The relocation process is due to commence 17th June and last for 6 weeks.
